Treatment for Mood Swings
The low mood that you experienced ten years ago, the low mood that you experienced nine years ago, the low mood that you experienced eight years ago, the low mood that you experienced seven years ago and the low mood that you experienced yesterday are completely unconnected and independent incidents.
All these happened for different purposes, different reasons, at different times and situations. But we connect all these unconnected incidents and say, ‘My life itself is a depression.’ when we connect all these low moods and decide, ‘My life is full of depression,’ we create hell for ourselves!
The moment one starts believing that my life is depressed, life indeed becomes depressing. It is only what we believe to be our past, we will see as future. If we connect all the negative incidents and view past as terrible, we can’t conceive the future to be bright.
We must reflect on our continual mistakes of thinking which are responsible for our maladjustment to life. Conditions are neither good nor bad, they seem to be either depressing or encouraging because of the sad or bright attitude of the mind. Our attitude determines whether events have a positive or negative effect on our lives, whether they are experienced as an opportunity or a stress. Fear, hatred, confusion, guilt, shame, hopelessness, falsehood and guilt weaken the life energy in us.
